The 10th Annual Folsom Powerhouse Century Ride hosted by the US Cycle Tour Club is on the calendar for Saturday, April 28th 2018. This event supports the National Parkinson Foundation and offers cycling enthusiasts of all levels and abilities to participate, have fun, and support a worthwhile cause. Parkinson’s is an incurable disease that affects, on average, 1 in 100 people by age 60. The event founder and President of the US Cycle Tour Club, Mike Ambrozewicz, lost his father to Parkinson’s and has chosen the National Parkinson Foundation as the beneficiary of this event.

IF YOU REGISTER BY APRIL 8th you may attend a free 2-day riding clinic on April 14-15 at 9AM at Mikes's Bikes Folsom to help you with your ride.
On Saturday, the ride begins and ends at Mike's Bikes located at 705 Gold Lake Drive, #320, Folsom, CA 95630. Cyclists can choose a 30, 65 or 100 mile route which will travel through the New Castle countryside to the Loomis basin, into the Gold Rush countryside and onto the breathtaking views of the snowcap Sierra mountain range.
-------Following the ride, participants are invited to a lunch and reception at the Historic Folsom Powerhouse State Park, which houses one of the oldest hydroelectric facilities in the world and provided electricity throughout Sacramento from 1895 to 1952.
-------Rest Stops will be set up approximately every 20 miles. Riders will have an opportunity to refuel before continuing to wind up through the California gold country. The lunch area will be in a beautiful park setting that includes a pond, grassy area, shade trees and beautiful spring flowers. The lunch will energize riders as they continue to the finish line.
Safety & Rules of the Road
-------Remember… this is a ride, there are no winners or losers! Be cautious when in a pack and when traveling down grades. Bicyclists must obey all California Vehicle code laws, including all stop signs and signals. It is vitally important that each rider has their bike in proper working order. It is the responsibility of the rider to monitor the mechanical condition of their bike before and during the ride.
Here is a check list of items to consider:
-ANSI/Snell approved helmets must be worn at all times during the ride
-All riders must carry a driver’s license or other form of ID with emergency information
Riders must carry:
1-Spare Tube, Patch Kit, Pump, Tire Irons, Tools and Water Bottles
SAG - Mechanical Support
-------SAG- Mechanical Support will be provided to help with minor mechanical problems or questions about the route. This group of volunteers will be connected by radio and will be roaming the course throughout the event.
