This 5K race was created by an Eagle Scout candidate as part of his project, both to raise funding for his project (installing signs and a fountain to honor Veterans in the village Square) and to bring more public participation in the Veteran's Day Ceremonies held there.

Now in it's 12th year, the race raises funds which are split between two groups:

- Boy Scout Troop 114, where the funds raised are used to bring youth ages 11-17 to many experiences which they might not otherwise get through family and school activities.

- The Tim Beaucage Memorial Christmas Fund - Organized by the East Coast Riders, the fund provides toys, food and more at Christmas for local families in need.  The man for whom the ride is named was a loved and highly regarded member of the East Coast Riders who passed away in 2007.

While at the same time still helping to bring the public to the site for the ceremonies on Veterans Day as was part of the original plan created by Andrew Earl.

The first 125 registrants are guaranteed a long sleeved T-Shirt and all runners will receive a ticket for the post race drawing where you may get a fabulous prize (tickets are drawn - first winner picks from all available prizes and continue until all prizes have been given out - so you must be present to win).
