Description

The Aldo Leopold Festival celebrates the pristine waters and unmatched natural beauty of The Les Cheneaux Islands in Cedarvile and Hessel, Michigan. As part of festival activities you (or your team of 3) can paddle, peddle, and pedestrian our unique setting amoung 36 islands and scenic shore. Celebrate the legacy of Aldo Leopold, known as th father of the conservation movement, who spend his summers on the water and woods of this lovely area. 

The triathlon starts with a one mile kayak paddle in Hessel Bay with views of many islands including Marquette Island  Mackinac Island. Next comes a 6 mile bicycle course in the quaint town of Hessel with views of the shoreline and marina. The final segment is a 2 mile run loop that returns to Hessel Beach. 

What better way to kick off the summer than with The Aldo Leopold Festival in lovely Les Cheneaux Islands!

Packet Pickup: 9 am Saturday June 2

Race start: Kayakers in water 10am, Hessel Beach, Lake Street.
