Event details and schedule
Please plan on arriving 60-90 minutes prior to your wave start to give yourself plenty of time to park, get your Golden Sun Run swag, check in if needed, and to get situated.
Please be prompt for your Heat.
Once your heat has started, (the heat is the time you registered for) small waves will be released every 60-90 seconds. Your physical start time is based on a first come-first serve basis, so naturally you will start earlier if you enter the start chute earlier. The last wave within your heat will go out 30 minutes after your scheduled heat (i.e., if your registered heat is for 8AM, the last wave in your heat will leave at 8:30AM).
Bring extra cash for our great SWAG or make a donation! Remember ALL proceeds go directly to our Charity Maria & Joseph’s Ministry to the Poor for their Water and Vitamin Programs.
After you park, did I mention to bring some extra cash! You'll want to check out our super sweet Golden Sun Run t-shirts, tutus, and more!
There is plenty of local available parking at Jose Rizal Community Center, Florin Mall. Please leave you valuable at home (except your extra cash), locked in your trunk or on your person. With THOUSANDS of smiles present on race day, sometime there’s always one yaaahooo who wants to ruin it for someone. Security will be roaming the parking area.
About This Activity
The annual Filipino Fiesta is held every first Sunday of June to celebrate the Philippine Independence Day. It is the biggest event where more than 10,000 Filipinos and other ethnic groups attend. The Fiesta event has been celebrated in Sacramento for more than 35 years. It was organized by different community organizations and individuals until these organizations and individuals decided to form an umbrella organization called the Filipino Fiesta of Sacramento (FFS) to plan, organize, and carry out the goals and purposes of this event every year
Who We Are
Our mission is a simple one: Founded in 2009, Maria & Joseph’s Ministry to the Poor (MJMP) is incorporated as a 501(c)(3), non-governmental, nonprofit organization dedicated to the humanitarian mission of building up the lives of underserved children in the Philippines, empower their families, and improve the quality of life in their communities.
MJMP is a 100% volunteer organization and has developed a comprehensive plan called the B.U.R.O. Project (Building Up Reaching Out) ™ , It is not just one project, but a variety of community outreach activities to help underserved children, particularly in areas of health, nutrition, and literacy.
Programs include child feeding, micronutrient distribution, purified water distribution centers, education, and medical assistance.
Sense our inception we have delivered thousands of gallons of water, helped thousands of children with health issues, and dispensed over 15 million vitamins to over 205,000 children and prenatal women
Maria & Joseph’s Ministry to the Poor (MJMP), depends on you and your financial support. MJMP does not receive any state or government funding and is runs solely on donations like yours, which ensures us to be able to continue our mission and be here for the mother and children that need our assistance.
