About Mt Siguniang

The Mt Siguniang (also known as Four Sisters Mountain/Four Girls Mountain ) Scenic Area is situated in Xiaojin County of A’ba Prefecture in Sichuan Province of China. The area is reputed to be the “Queen of Mountains in Sichuan” and “The Oriental Alps” because it offers beautiful landscape and exquisite scenery. The Four Sisters Mountain Scenic Area consists of Mt Siguniang, Mt Balang, and 3 main valleys – Haizi Gou, Changping Gou, Shuangqiao Gou.

Mt Siguniang encompasses four peaks: DaFeng (Big Peak or 1st peak), ErFeng (2nd peak), SanFeng (3rd peak), and Yaomei Feng (4th peak). The highest peak is Yaomei Feng; literally: "peak of the youngest sister"), also known as the "Queen of Sichuan's peaks" , standing at 6250 meters. It is also the second highest mountain in Sichuan Province.

The other three lower peaks are regular mountaineering destinations through all seasons. Mt Siguniang DaFeng; literally: "peak of the oldest sister", 5038 m) is normally considered as a pure trekking peak while ErFeng; literally: "peak of the second sister", 5276 m) and SanFeng ; literally: "peak of the third sister", 5355 m) are more challenging as it involves basic climbing technique.
