Description

Join Special Olympics Northern California for the coolest event of the year – the Bay Area 5K and Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. This timed run will take you along the beautiful Alameda beach.  Each participant will  receive a finisher medal with first through third place awards presented to top finishers in each age category.  REGISTER EARLY FOR THE 5K AS FEES INCREASE ON 1/1/2026.

This event is part of the Bay Area 5K & Polar Plunge event.  Participants are encouraged to dress in costume!

9:15a.m. - 5K Opening Ceremony               
9:30a.m. - 5K Run Begins

Plunge Registration Opens
10:30a.m. - Race Course Cleared
11:30a.m. - Plunge Opening Ceremony, Costume Judging and Awards
12 noon - PLUNGE
