Description

Polk County wants bicyclists from everywhere to come enjoy our forested hills and valleys. This is Livingston's 5th Annual SPIRIT RIDE, a chance to not only enjoy the gorgeous scenery of East Texas, but to also enjoy the riches of a small East Texas community. Both experienced and beginning cyclists ride through Livingston and Polk County on 25-35-44 or 67 mile(100 km) routes that will take you through the rolling hills around beautiful Lake Livingston.

Proceeds from this event will benefir the local Polk County Crime Stoppers which is a non profit organization dedicated to helping law enforcement prevent or solve crimes in the community.

 

 

Event details and schedule

When: Saturday November 11th, 2017, 9am rain or shine

Registration: Available in advance at Active.com for a fee of $35. You can also register on-site the day of the ride beginning at 7:30am for $45.  The first 100 registered riders are guaranteed a shirt so be sure and pre-register.

Start Location: Our ride begins at the Livingston High School parking lot located at 400 FM 350 South  Livingston, TX 77351.  Livingston is located 75 miles north of Houston on Highway 59. All routes will start promptly at 9am, rain or shine.

Routes: We offer 4 ride routes for all levels of riders, including a “Metric Century” 67mile course.  The routes will take participants through the rolling hills south and west of Livingston Texas via 4 courses of increasing length.  Participants will ride along the eastern shore of Lake Livingston, and finish at the High School where the rides began.

Support: Rest stops and SAG support will be available on all routes. This will include fruit and drinks along with plenty of port-a-potties.  So whether you need to take a break, need help with a flat or just need a lift, we will be there for you.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided to riders on their return to the High School parking lot up to 3:00 pm.

 Safety Requirements:

  • Any rider under the age of 16 must also be accompanied by an adult (21 or older) at all times.

  • Helmets are required, NO  HELMET, NO RIDE

  • No head phones allowed while riding

  • No Trailers or Tag-a-longs
