Multi discipline adventure race legs this course will demand extreme mental discipline.
The race will cover in excess of 400km + along the Mayo coast line.
What to expect!
A completion time no less than 30 – 36 hours the race will compose of time sensitive legs “Beat the Clock sections”.
Elements of the course are orienteering based.
Competitors must be proficient swimmers. Competitors will be required to sign a swim declaration during the registration process.
Entries will open for teams and individuals. NOTE: A team must complete all disciplines and cross the finish line together.
A team consists of three members - each team member must complete all sections of the course.
This event is scheduled for Sat 22nd – Sun 23rd September 2018 (Registration evening of Friday 22nd September). The event commences at 2am Sat 22nd September 2018.
The race will have a maximum competitor threshold.
This is a figure of 8 course competitors return to start point during race where they can avail of a mandatory 2 hour rest/ food before returning to the remainder of the course.
Registration for the event will commence Friday evening the 22nd September 2018 prior to the race start.
Allowing competitors adequate time to rest prior to race start.
It is recommended to pitch a tent and rest prior to the event.
Camping area is provided as part of entrance fee – the tent allows competitors to use it as a fuel and rest stop during the mid- point section of the event. The tent is also a great location to rest afterwards!
Showers / toilets will be available at event start located on the Mullet Peninsula aprox. 9 miles West of Belmullet town.
This event will be open to road bikes only, rules of the road apply all competitors must wear properly fitted and CE marked helmets.
It is vital that all competitors bring the following mandatory kit list with them from the start line.
Basic First Aid Kit (Min: 1 x Dressing Pad (field dressing), Bandage, Plasters
Map of the route (included in your race pack)
Survival blanket and whistle
Appropriate food and drink. There will be limited water re-filling points on the course
Cycle helmet, bike repair kit, spare tube, pump
Hat, gloves and waterproof jacket
Backpack or bum bag
Tow Float is provided and must be used during swim section
After you cross the finish line you will receive a medal.
Each competitor will receive a food voucher.
Medical aid will be available throughout the finish area.
