This is the 9th year of Energia24. It carries a gold label from the IAU and a Permit from UK Athletics. It is The National Championship* but welcomes runners from around the globe. The winner is the man and woman who goes the furthest in a 24-hour period. There are cash + bonuses for records + other prizes.There is a special jacket for anyone who goes beyond 100 miles. This summer(June 23/24) it comes from Victoria Park on a 1652m traffic-free,flat course in the east of Belfast,Northern Ireland. There is also a 12-hour race, a 100kms and a 24-hour team relay(teams of 4 including at least 1 woman each doing 3 stints of 2 hours). More information at the Energia24 Facebook page.
* To be eligible for the National Championship you must be a member of a club north or south and be eligible to carry an Irish passport. As well as  1-2-3 championship medals, there will for the first time be age-group medals.

Event details and schedule

 The Energia Belfast 24 Hour race starts at 1300 on Sat,June 23 in Victoria Park. It follows the Parkrun which starts at 9.30am. Registration is from 8am. 12-hour entrants can either start at 1300 or at 0100. Around the 1652m course, there is a tented village, a massage,physio and first-aid marquee, feed station tables, a small kitchen area, a water station,chemical toilets and a TV monitor with distance updates from the chip timing plus live tracking. There are also some very enthusiastic volunteers to keep you going. For families pitching their tents, there are also U10s and U5s races at 4pm on Saturday afternoon. There is no car-parking in Victoria Park. There is alternative car-parking at Topaz on the Airport Road(Enter by Sam Thompson Bridge).The race venue is next door to George Best Belfast City Airport and Sydenham Station(Enter by pedestrian gate) How far could you go?
