Hell Down South, part of the HellRunner series, is the original Hell Run.

The HellRunner use entirely natural terrain. There will only ever be one huge obstacle to overcome and that is Mother Nature herself. Expect multi-terrain and varying underfoot conditions as we take you on an off-piste adventure running experience like no other. There will be everything from running tracks and trails to water-filled areas and plenty of steep hills. From “Lucifer’s Lido” to the “Bog of Doom”, expect to get smelly and wet! It will be nature at its toughest.

The course will be marked but do not expect to see mile or kilometre markers….that’s for those softy road running types. All you need to know is that the course will be between 10-12 miles in length and it will be the slowest run of your running career to date. Harder, Hillier and Hellier than anything you’ve have faced before. But you’ll Run Happy with HellRunner

The Start times for Hell Down South are as follows:

Wave 1 – 10:00am

Wave 2 – 10:20am

Wave 3- 10.40am

Little Devils Fun Run – 09:30am

If you have your runner number with timing chip then you don’t need to register.

Mandatory Vehicle Pass


All vehicles, irrespective of their size or number of passengers, shall be required to display a valid Vehicle Access Pass upon entry to the military training area, HellRunner venue.  Passes can be purchased online via the HellRunner entry process either at the time of entry or separately at a later date.


If pre-purchased prior to midnight on Monday 5th November, the cost will be £5 plus a small online booking fee.  Vehicle passes purchased after this time or on the day shall be charged at £10.


Pre-paid Vehicle Access Passes will be posted out along with your personal race number and event information pack approximately 7-14 days ahead of the event.  If you require any further assistance please call us on 03332 400 616 or email



On November 24th we have two entry points for vehicles arriving before 9am.

If travelling from the Southampton direction, come off the A3 at the Longmoor Camp junction and turn onto the A325, Woolmer Road.  Head towards Bordon and then turn back on yourself at the first roundabout.  Just before the A3 junction you will see the steward controlled entry point.  THIS ENTRY POINT WILL CLOSE AT 9AM SHARP.

From 0715am the usual Grigg’s Green entrance will be open and will remain so throughout the day to all bona fide HellRunner participants and spectators.  NO ACCESS INTO/THROUGH LONGMOOR MILITARY CAMP WILL BE ALLOWED.  There will be a 20mph speed limit in force.  Please respect this at all times.

Vehicle Access Passes: All participant and/or spectator vehicles entering the military training area for HellRunner shall be required to prominently display their pass at the point of entry.


Runners arriving by taxi should instruct their driver to drop them off outside the main Guardroom at the entrance to Longmoor Camp. You will only be allowed access into and through the Camp if carrying suitable ID (passport or driving license) and must be escorted at all times.

Disabled Parking
Bona fide disabled spectators (with their vehicles) shall be allowed to access the event via the main entrance to Longmoor Camp so long as they have applied for a parking permit in advance.

Permits can be obtained by emailing stating the name of the runner and vehicle registration number.

Please follow the marshal instructions upon entry.


There will be a manned baggage area close to the Start / Finish. Please note that we cannot guarantee the safety of any item(s) left in this area. You should ensure that all items of left baggage are clearly marked with your race number.

There will be a small changing area situated alongside the signed Left Baggage marquee and close to the start/finish area. A lot of people will choose to use this though so we strongly recommend that you arrive in your running clothes and bring additional warm and dry items to put on for your return journey. We regret that there are NO SHOWER facilities on site at the venue.

First Aid
Medical support will be present on the course and at the finish. You should be relatively fit and have no known medical conditions. Please note – do not run with a cold or flu. This can be extremely dangerous.

Toilet facilities will be available (especially for those of a nervous disposition!) but we encourage all competitors to make use of any alternative toilet facilities en route to the event. May we ask all competitors to be respectful of the local environment, facilities and other competitors in all sanitary matters!

One drinks station will be at about the halfway point, a second between the Bog of Doom and Lucifer’s Lido and another at the finish. However, please bring your own water to drink before and after the event start.

Hot food and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue.

HellRunner Merchandise
If you have pre-purchased any of the limited edition HellRunner tee shirts or hoodies you will receive a laminated voucher in advance of the event. Please hand in this voucher at the main Event Marquee to claim your merchandise.

HellRunner merchandise will also be on sale at the event while stocks last.
