Welcome to the Kaiwi Coast Run & Walk.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to experience the beauty of the scenic Kaiwi Coast at a runner’s and/or walker’s pace. Held on Sunday, November 19, 2017, this 4-mile journey will begin at 6:45 a.m. with the rising of the sun over the Kaiwi Channel, a Hawaiian oli (chant) and the blowing of the pu (conch) shell.

The event starts at Sandy Beach Park (Awawamalu) and continues around the Kaiwi Coast, passing Halona Blow Hole and Hanauma Bay and finishing at the Hui Nalu Canoe Club halau on the shores of Maunalua Bay.

This is the only pedestrian race sanctioned for this area of O‘ahu. This special setting allows the race participants to enjoy the Kaiwi Coast in its pristine and natural state. Between Sandy Beach Park and Hanauma Bay the road will be closed to all traffic.

All participants will receive a commemorative glass fishing float, race shirt (event shirt not guaranteed if you are registering after October 31, 2017) and goodie bag. At the finish line there will be refreshments, an awards ceremony and the opportunity to meet community organizations sharing their missions.

Proceeds benefit Hui Nalu Canoe Club programs and support the mission of the Ka Iwi Coalition,  Livable Hawaii Kai Hui, and other Maunalua community groups. Hui Nalu Canoe Club is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
