MdG IV - Saturday only

Saturday 22nd September 2018

South Gower Rugby Club: Pwll Du Lane, Swansea, United Kingdom

Distance running, Running

This event is for the FINAL STAGE ONLY of the Marathon de Gwyr.

The Marathon de Gwyr (MdG) is the Darth Costal Runners’ summer challenge.

The MdG consists of 3 consecutive days of fell-running across the stunning Gower peninsula, covering a total distance of 55 miles. Unlike the Darth Mannion Beach & Swamp Run Challenge (DMBSRC) there are no sea-dips or river runs, just beautiful landscapes and stunning coastline.

This is a unique opportunity to join the fun and enter final stage of the MdG IV.

Event details and schedule

The final stage of the MdG IV will take place on Saturday 22nd September 2018 and will consist of 17 miles of brutal trail running from Port Eynon to Pwll Du.

Internationally recognised Darth Mannion Peloton System

The MdG is an inclusive challenge and not a race. It will utilise a peloton system and there will be no static marshals. As such runners will be expected to run together, and not faster (or slower) than their designated peloton. Multiple pelotons will be utilised at the half way point to cater for different abilities.

MdG After Party

The post-run social is an extremely important part of the MdG. After the final stage runners will be invited to our legendary MdG After Party at the Valley Hotel, Bishopston. This is a free event and open to all.

The full cost is £25, which includes a £10 donation to the Wales Air Ambulance.
