Description

Paces for PAWS is a dog friendly event so please bring your best canine companions to participate in the festivities (don't forget leashes, please)! With this event, we hope to provide an opportunity for people of all ages in our community to help homeless and abandoned animals receive the medical care, shelter and companionship they need until their forever homes are found. 

Event check-in will begin at 7:30 AM, with the 5k Race beginning at 8:30 AM. If running isn't your thing, you can still join in on the fun! The 1 mile Family Fun Pledge Walk will begin at 9:30 AM (please arrive for check-in by 9:00 AM). Walk with your dogs, kids or friends; come out in silly hats or costumes; make it your own and most importantly, have some fun!

This event is the second of six events in the RunBelfast 2019 race series held in Belfast, Maine (more at https://www.runbelfast.org/).  You can register for each one individually or can sign up for all six at one reduced price!  The series includes:  Pendleton 5K + 5 M on the Rail Trail - June 1; Paces for PAWS 5K and 1 Mile Family Walk - Jun 22; Rotary Kilted Canter 5K - Jul 20; Rotary Bug Run 5K - August 17; YMCA Pancake Triple Stack 1 Mile Kids' Run, 5K, and 10K - Sep 15; Rollie’s Run for Kids 5K - October 5.  The RunBelfast Series is grateful for sponsorship from Damariscotta Bank & Trust and Journey to Health (MaineHealth).

 

Event details and schedule

When: Saturday, June 22, 8:30 am start

Where: Belfast Rail Trail near the Armistice Bridge, Belfast, Maine

Race-day registration and Race # pick-up: Race day between 7:30-8:15 am

Fee:  Individual 5K - $25 through June 20; $35 race day / Family 1 mile - $25 per family member (age 13+). T-shirts are guaranteed for all runners/walkers who register through June 20; after that date, t-shirts are available while supplies last.

Awards: Overall female and male; then top M & F in each of 9 age groups (pre-teen thru 80+) and for the top fundraiser in the 1 mile pledge walk.
