Description

The SMC Services 2018 Outback to the Stack Running Festival will offer something for every running ability!


Distances: 

Individual 5km, 10km, 21.1km runs
Individual 21.1km Walk
Teams (2 - 4 members) 21.1km run

Traditionally the Half Marathon walk & run start out near Lake Moondarra. We follow the road in to town and collect the 10km & 5km runners as we get closer to Tony White Oval. A map will be available in due course. 

Temperatures in July are beautiful for running 10*C - 24*C.

Event details and schedule

RACE PACK COLLECTION

Date: Saturday July 21st

Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm

Venue: 30 Miles St, outside Sportspower

All competitors MUST pick up their race packs during this time. Others may collect your race pack for you, provided they have a copy of your registration email

 

Timing chips

All competitors (including walkers) will receive timing chips in their race packs. Please note that despite our best efforts to ensure accurate timing, your race time is ultimately your responsibility. You may wish to also time yourself to ensure you have a personal record of your time. Timing chips are to be worn securely around your left or right ankle. For times to be recorded you must step on the timing mats and ensure a ‘beep’ is heard. Timing chips MUST be returned at the finish line or you will incur a $50 replacement fee.

Parking

As parking is limited at race starts, we recommended competitors make use of the FREE bus service from Tony White Oval to race starts, see below for times.

 

Southern Cross TV 21.1km Half Marathon Walk

Bus Departs Tony White Oval: 4.20am

Competitor Roll Call, Equipment Check & Race Briefing: 4.50am

Race Start: 5am

Start Location: Lake Moondarra

Finish Location: Tony White Oval

Competitors must self-supply and wear a high visibility vest and head lamp

 

HIT FM 21.1km Half Marathon Team Run

Bus Departs Tony White Oval: 5.50am

Competitor Roll Call & Race Briefing: 6.50am

Race Start: 7am

Start Location: Lake Moondarra

Finish Location: Tony White Oval

Teams are responsible for their own team interchanges and distances run for each team member.

 

Heavy Mech 21.1km Half Marathon Run

***NO MUSIC PLAYERS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED DURING THE RACE, USE OF SUCH DEVICES WILL DISQUALIFY YOU FROM THE EVENT***

***21.1km WALKERS MUST HAVE HEAD LAMP AND HIGH VIS VEST***

***ALL COMPETITORS MUST BE PRESENT AT YOUR EVENT START LINE FOR ROLL CALL & RACE BRIEFING, FAILING TO DO SO MAY EXCLUDE YOU FROM THE RACE***

Aid Stations

First aid kits available at all aid stations

Station 1 - Approximately 6km from 21.1km race start (water only)

Station 2 - 10km start (water & electrolytes)

Station 3 - Corner of Urquhart Street and Davis Road (near Judo club) (water & electrolytes)

Station 4 - Near Railway Avenue / Church Street (Opposite St Joseph’s Training Centre) (water only)

 

Recovery Tent

A recovery tent will be set up for competitors only near the finish line at Tony White Oval. Fruit, water and electrolytes will be available, alongside Saint John’s assistance if required.

 

Toilets

Toilets will be located at the 21.1km and 10km start and Tony White Oval.

 

Food and Drinks

Food and drinks will be available for spectators and competitors to purchase at Tony White Oval. Please bring along cash to support our vendors.

 

Presentations / Prizes

Presentations will commence immediately following race closure.

Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each event category

$1000 is up for grabs for any male or female who breaks the Half Marathon run course record.

Lucky entrant prizes for competitors and volunteers

You MUST be present to win lucky entrant prizes

 

Please bring along chairs/picnic blankets etc to stay and enjoy presentations
