Description

The South County Health Centennial 5K will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at South County Hospital with a race route that will run through our historic neighborhood. We invite the community to join us for this wellness event where we will also host a cake-cutting celebrating our 100th birthday. The Centennial 5K will benefit Cancer Services at South County Hospital.

With more than 10,000 Southern Rhode Islanders expected to be diagnosed with cancer over the next decade, take comfort in knowing that South County Hospital offers interdisciplinary cancer care for our patients in a warm, comfortable setting close to home. Here we provide the expertise and collaboration of medical and radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, and other physicians, as well as pharmacists, oncology nurses, nutritionists, clinical social workers, behavioral health professionals, and more. Our patients know that they can count on us for the finest cancer care possible – when and where they need it. Our state-of-the-art care allows patients to focus on living – not commuting for treatment.

South County Hospital recognizes the importance of providing all patients with access to cancer services they need not only for diagnosis and treatment, but also for rehabilitation and survivorship care. South County Hospital’s Oncology Rehab Program offers important physical and psychological rehabilitation so survivors can recover more quickly and more completely than they otherwise would. We serve all survivors, whether they are beginning treatment, finished with treatment, or experiencing late effects or unresolved issues from long-ago treatment. Our program is open to everyone no matter the prognosis, cancer stage or phase of recovery.

Please help us to continue to provide top-level cancer services to our friends, family and neighbors by articipating in this 5K.
