The MLK Jr. Drive Merchants Association will launch it’s Inaugural 2 Mile Community Walk to help support the Shelter, Hunger, & Clothing needs of the Metro Atlanta Task Force For the Homeless.
ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY
Founded in 1981 the Metro Atlanta Task Force For the Homeless continues to consistently serve as the central coordinating agency for the homeless individuals. Goal: “no person left outside”.
In1981, Mayor Andrew Young and a coalition of community leaders formed the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless.
Mission: To advocate with and to represent the dignity and right of people who are homeless in our society toward the goal of preventing homelessness and seeking appropriate and affordable housing for all.

Walk Begins 9:00 a.m.
