Description

The Tangila Trail Series is a proudly Zambian celebration of sporting camaraderie and healthy living founded upon recognising the value of our country’s natural heritage. Our mission is to create a unique and professionally-run event that provides participants with the opportunity to run and cycle through the beautiful hills and valleys of Masebe Ranch and to swim in its clean, fresh waters.

Tangila Trail Series 2018 will take place on Saturday, 21 July at the Mkushi Country Club in the Central Province of Zambia. Three running events will take place in the morning, an open-water swimming event will occur at midday, and two MTB events will take place in the afternoon. Prize-giving and presentations will be carried out at the Country Club in the evening accompanied by a hot meal (not included in entry fee) and a cash bar. Self-catered camping will be available at the Mkushi Country Club on Friday 20 July and Saturday 21 July at 50 ZMW per person. Note that the Tangila Trail Series is not a triathlon! However, it is designed to allow individual participation in all three disciplines in a single day.

For runners, there will be a 10 km fun-run, a 22 km non-technical trail, and a 32 km technical trail. While the 10 km and 22 km trails will be well-marked and supported, the 32 km route will have limited markers and will require navigation by GPS. Further challenged by a demanding cut-off time, the 32 km event is intended for experienced trail runners. The 10 km route will also be open to walkers and social cyclists and will be the only event that can be entered on-the-day.

For mountain bikers, there will be 35 km and 50 km routes boasting extensive single track and technically challenging segments. These events require navigation by GPS. Tangila Trail Series is proud to be part of the newly conceived Zambia National MTB Series and recorded times will contribute to overall National Series results.

For swimmers, there will be a 1000 m single-circuit open-water event that is intended for competent swimmers only.

The 10 km Fun Run, Walk, or Cycle will cater for on-the-day entries. Participants in all other events must be registered online. Registration is only complete upon payment, which is made online by credit card. Alternatively, cash entries will be accepted at DigiPrint East Park, Lusaka starting on 16 April.

Online registrations may be transferred to another participant or event prior to 30 June. Entries via DigiPrint are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

The registration deadline is midnight on 30 June 2018. However, note that entries are capped and may sell out prior to the deadline.
