The Burlington Junior Woman’s Club has been serving Alamance County for 50 years.  In order to keep providing the much needed programs in our community, we need your help. This year we will be hosting our 7th annual Ta-Ta Trot 5K on Saturday, April 14, 2018.  The Ta-Ta Trot is a fundraiser established to help raise awareness for breast cancer and promote better overall health.

In addition to benefiting the Burlington Junior Woman’s Club we are proud to be partnering with another local charity. Little Pink Houses of Hope promotes breast cancer recovery by offering opportunities for survivors to reconnect and celebrate life.  As community non-profit organizations we depend on events such as this 5K run to make our annual contributions to our community.

Some additional examples of the Burlington Junior Woman’s Club’s community projects include:

  • Project Shoes - adopted in 1993 by BJWC in order to provide shoes and socks to needy children in the local school system and community. Last year we were able to provide over 100 pairs of shoes to children within the Alamance-Burlington School System.

  • In 2017 alone, the Burlington Junior Woman’s Club donated hundreds of hours & thousands of dollars to projects in Alamance County including: working with school social workers to provide new socks and shoes to kids in need through our signature project, Project Shoes; providing feminine hygiene products to girls and women in crisis, need, and/or transition; provding funds to help sustain the senior discount program at North Park Farmers Market; sponsoring multiple families and wards for Christmas through the Alamance County Christmas Cheer office; and additional projects as needs arise!

  • Local scholarships – Burlington Junior Woman’s Club provides two yearly scholarships to deserving seniors from our area schools.
