In support of Ealing Half Marathon Associated Charity, this special Mile event is held free of charge to anyone wanting to run, jog or walk our Mile Series course.
Andrew Carter, 33, took part in the Ealing Half Marathon on Sunday 28th September 2014. He collapsed shortly before the end of the race following a cardiac arrest and passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday 1st October 2014.
Andrew's family said "Andrew loved his life in Ealing which had become his home over the last five years. He was a fit and healthy young man who typified all that is great in life. He loved all sports, especially running, swimming, and football".
Consequently the family wish to endorse wholehearted support for the registered charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), in order that testing can identify those at risk, and to support further research into cardiac conditions in young people who appear fit and healthy.
Come and join us and run this great course, it is the perfect way to start a Saturday morning and raise funds for a worthy cause. All we ask is that all runners make a donation to the collection tin on the day or donate online here to the Tom Clabburn Fund.
This one lap mile is suitable for all abilities and ages, fast for PB potential or a great stroll for a good cause.
Meeting point: Inside the main gate of Lammas Park at the junction of Culmington Road and Beaconsfield Road, Ealing W5 5JH. Nearest Tube station: South Ealing (Piccadilly Line).
Race numbers can be collected on the day from 10:30 onwards, the race will start at 11:00. Get the #EalingFeeling and we look forward to seeing you there.
