About This Event
The Dare12 is a 12 hour multi-terrain endurance running event open for solo or relay team runners. Situated in the idyllic grounds of Dare Valley Country Park, the 8k course is held over a 12 hour period and it is as challenging as it is enjoyable, taking in the breath-taking scenery as the route weaves its way up and down the hills and through the technical trails in the woodlands.
Trail running shoes are recommended (not manditory) or a just good pair of joggers will suffice.
Solo athletes can bring there own portable foods/water to eat/drink on the run, IF THEY WISH. but there will be plenty of water and munchies at the half way drink station.
At close of the race it is still daylight hours, so headlamps are note manditory.
No other manditory kit is required.
On the day, ample course marking, a mid-point drinks station and plenty of supportive marshals will ensure that competitors can concentrate on enjoying the challenge and tackling the terrain.
The Dare12 Run presents a great opportunity for elite endurance athletes to challenge themselves at the annual event and perhaps set new course records across multiple divisions.
Those not up for the solo challenge will be able to tackle the course together with their relay teams sharing the 8km trail over the 12 hour period with one team member on the course at a time. Or you can all take a break together if you wish.
Registrations and camping opens on Friday night prior to the start on Saturday morning. The race will START at 8am on Saturday 7th Sept and FINISH at 8pm Saturday night the 7th Sept. Runners still out on course at 8pm will have 1 hour to finish their lap. The event is for competitors 18 years or older (on the day of the event) and the race is open to all levels of runners from beginners to elite, solos and teams.
Proceeds from the event will be going towards a local charity Oshi’s World, a local registered charity that have set out to create an accessible social, sensory and play space for children with disabilities and life limiting illness. Find out more here.
