Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue: 600 Beetz Road, Mount Airy, United States
Thundering Hooves 5K is a fun run/walk set in Western Howard County. The trail course meanders throughout the rescue's 130 acre farm, giving the runners spectacular views of the undulating pastures and all of our draft horses. The course makes use of all types of terrain - across our rolling hills, through our woodlots and along the creek bottom. You will not find a prettier race course. The course is not stroller friendly. Be sure to stay after the race to meet the horses.
Race start time is 10 am with packet pick up opening at 9 am.
Please try to arrive early so you may be able to pick up your packet and sign your waiver. This will allow us to get the race started on time. We are approximately 1 hour from DC and about 45 minutes from Baltimore. Please find directions on our website,www.thunderinghooves5k.com
Race will be held RAIN or SHINE
Awards will be given for Mens and Women age classes so be sure to stick around.
PLEASE NO DOGS ON RACE DAY
Come meet and greet our horses that your participation will help provide feed and care for a full recovery, We ask that you PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE HORSES AS THEY ARE ON A SPECIAL DIET.
If you would like to donate apples or carrots on race day that would be fine.
