The ninth annual Tipperary Women's Mini Marathon will take place in Thurles on Sunday, 30th September at 11.00am.  This event provides a great opportunity for women of all ages to get active and take part in a womens only event.  All finishers will receive a specially designed race medallion and a technical tee-shirt.  The event is registered with the AAI and all participants will be chip timed.  There is also a charitable donation of €200 to the largest group to register who are rasing funds for a charitable cause.  Spot prizes will also be distributed on the day.

The event was launched in July by Samantha Lambert, All Ireland Intermediate Football Captain.

Event details and schedule

This event will start at 11.00am 

The race starts at 11am before the Jimmy Doyle bridge on the Templemore side after the “Link Road” Sign and head towards LIT. At the roundabout turn left and continue passing the school to turn lift on to Cucullan road. On the Templemore road turn left onto the link road and after passing the start, before LIT turn right for Leugh. After the halfway keep left for Leugh school and keep around Leugh school. Continue along this road to come out at the Graveyard at Killinan turning left along the Nenagh road back to the roundabout coming in the rear gates of LIT to finish opposite tin the LIT carpark.

Participants are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. Also, there is about a 5 -7 minute walk to the start line.

Participants must wear their official race numbers an chip timing, these may be collected at LIT, Thurles on Saturday 29th September 2018 between 10am and 2pm or Sunday 30th September 2018 between 8am and 9.30am.

Swapping of race numbers is not permitted.

Participants must be over 18 years of age.

No headphones to be worn by participants for safety reasons.

Parking will be available on the day Thurles Crokes AC and the public car parks in the area.  There will be no parking on the grounds of LIT.

Participants are responsible for their own safety and are participating at their own risk. 

All participants must obey the rules of the road at all times, Beaware of other road users as this event will be run on open roads.

Participants must obey the instructions of the Gardai, the civil defence and event marshalls at all times.
