Costa Teguise: Avenida de Las Islas Canarias, Costa Teguise, Spain
Vuelta Lanzarote 190km Gran Fondo
Ride all the signature climbs of the island, Mirador del Rio, Tabayesco and Femes...bring your climbing legs!
IMPORTANT – READ BEFORE YOU PLACE YOUR ENTRY
Strict stipulation from the road authority for this event.
There can only be 2km between the front and the back of the peloton for this Gran Fondo.
The average speed for the front of the group will be limited to 23kmh*
Current actual speeds may exceed this speed on downhill or wind assisted areas of the course.
The course will have complimentary water stops in place.
The peloton will stop at these points, it allows the peloton to regroup and satisfy the criteria in place. If a participant over-takes the lead vehicle they will be removed from the event. Any participant falling behind the rear safety vehicle will be obliged to get in the broom wagon.
We urge all participants to abide by this rule so that we can apply for a semi or full road closure without the 2km rule for the event in 2020.
TT bikes or flat handle bar bikes are not permitted.
*23kmh average in Lanzarote is equivalent to 26-28kmh in mainland Europe. Average speeds here are lower due to the heat, the wind and this route has 2,850 metres of climbing. Do not be deceived!
